[Week 4] : Comments - Life is Beautiful

Life is Beautiful

"Nothing is more necessary than the unnecessary."
-Elisio Orefice-

"Buon giorno, Principessa!", A word you cannot forget after watching the most beautiful and breath taking show, Life is Beautiful.Yes. Life is beautiful. Especially where we are right here and right now. Sadly, life maybe be only beautiful, for us. Some people live in a world of peace. Others, they are in midst of war.

The story follows a man named Guido. He is a very positive and charming man. At first, I assumed he was just another typical man, wooing ladies and fooling around. But I stand corrected after realizing that he wasn't just wooing any lady, it was only one lady. It was his Princess.

His tomfoolery sets up smiles on peoples faces. He would look at the positive side of the world and play around with just about anyone. To me, a person like this does not imply that he is a fool. However, I see them as one of the smart people. Why? Because one would have to squeeze their brains out to make themselves happy. But it takes more than that to make the others around you happier.

The early part of the movie retains around him winning Dora's heart. But things changed in a blink after they were blessed with a child. It's because World War II had begun and Guido, being born Jew, was taken away to the camps, including Guido's child.

It gets more emotional that Guido, Dora, and their child would rather die than being separated from each other. I admired Guido's ability to keep his cool and appear calm in front of his child and convinced the young boy to believe that whatever they were going through was just a game.

Nothing can be proven to stronger than Guido's love for his family. Not even the Nazi's army, not even their tanks, and not even their cruel ways of injustice. Nothing can break that chain of love.
